Star - Chapter1

“Dad, look!” exclaimed Daniel tugging on his father’s shirt.

“Well, look at that! A shooting star!” said Daniel’s father in satisfaction. “Quickly, make a wish!” he said, and closed his eyes to make his wish.

Alas, Daniel didn’t make his wish, instead watched his father peculiarly as if he were some kind of interesting animal.

Daniel was startled when his father had suddenly opened his eyes. “What did you wish for dad?” Danny asked.

“For you to ace that spelling test you have at school tomorrow. What did you wish for?”

Daniel shook his head. “I’m happy right here and right now. I don’t want anything.”

“Is that so?” asked his father, “I bet I know what you actually want right now.”

“What is that?”

“I bet that you want a good night sleep, don’t you?”

Daniel yawned. “Yes, I do.”

Then Daniel’s father carried Daniel all the way home.

Star knew what to do.

She had to grant that man’s wish, for that was the law in her kingdom. To grant a mere human’s wish and you are not allowed to return to her kingdom until the wish was granted. That happened every ten years. Except that she wasn’t allowed. She was supposed to stay at her kingdom. After all, she was the princess of her kingdom.

She was surprised the man didn’t wish for money or fame. He just wished for his son to ace some stupid test.

Oh well, she thought, a wish is a wish. She disguised herself as a cat, and followed the man carrying his son.

But then, the man went inside a building, and she knew it was rude to enter someone else’s property without they’re permission, but she wanted to go home, and take a good night’s sleep herself. Plus, her father might catch her in the human world, and who knew what kind of trouble she’d get into?

So, she changed herself into a moth, and flew through the open window of the boy’s room.

Star landed on the boy’s cheek, and used some magic she owned to make the boy know all his words for his spelling test the next day.

She saw that there were only 5 words,

Father, Mother, Teacher, Friends, and finally the last word, Star.

Star was glad that her name was on that boy’s test, she felt special.

She hesitated when she felt the boy waking up, and then quickly flew out the window before the boy had a chance to even open his eyes to see what happened..

Star knew the way home, and fortunately, her father hadn’t noticed that Star was gone. She was still a delicate moth, and she passed threw the snoring guards of her castle, and then changed herself back into her regular self.

She looked back at the snoring guards as she tiptoed across the castle hall, then felt herself bump into someone.

It was her father.

“Princess!” her father said in a surprised tone, “Isn’t it time you were in bed?”

"Yes father." she whispered gently, and walked away to her room.

That night, Star cried herself to sleep. Her father never called her by her real name. Who cared if her name was on a human boy’s test?

All that did not matter for her, for her father only called her princess, and sometimes, she had the thought that she did not want to be a princess.

Star - Prologue

"For my dad "

Every ten years, a star falls from the sky.

The star gets a wish granted upon itself, by a mere human. The stars are forbidden to go back up to the kingdom of the skies, where they originally come from, until the human’s with gets granted.

Not always was the law of the sky kingdom was like this, but the king who ruled the sky had made that law ever since his queen had passed away.

But, for the people of the kingdom already lived up in an immortal place, when someone was gone, they did not make a funeral. And the people, who died there, didn’t go to heaven or hell.

Allow me to explain.

We all know there are only 3 worlds in this universe, heaven, earth, and hell. What people do not know is that there is a 4th world, the kingdom of skies. The kingdom of skies is placed in between the heaven and the earth, where God had placed them among the stars, when he had created the sun and the moon on the fourth day.

Let me tell you how this law of wishes was made.

As I had mentioned before, the king who ruled the kingdom of skies had made that law after his beloved queen had died. The queen was very beautiful, her name was Agatha, and her heart was as pure as gold.

The queen liked the fact that her kingdom was placed among the stars, the view was beautiful, as much as her, and she thanked god every day for it.

One day, she had seen how earth had been very poor with keeping they’re peace, she had seen slavery, and war.

She had thought that if every human got what they wanted, they would all stop this madness and live together in peace again. Agatha was delighted to hear that her husband had agreed to this law, and so it was done.

The basic idea was that every ten years, on star falls from the sky, and grant the human’s wishes.

A few years later in the kingdom, a baby daughter, the princess of kingdom of the skies was born. Agatha and her husband decided for they’re daughter to be named Star, for Agatha liked the stars that were placed near they’re kingdom.

At the very same moment Star was born, so was Daniel, from earth.

His family was not the richest family, they lived in a place where was comfortable enough to call it a home.

When Daniel was born, his parents had thanked God for giving them a strong healthy child like Daniel.

Daniel grew to be a strong boy, and Star grew to be a graceful girl.

Then, when both kids had turned 5, Agatha finally breathed her last breath.

Agatha’s husband, also known as Star’s father continued on with they’re law, for it was what his beloved wife had always wanted.

Now Star had turned 7, and the queen’s husband, Mortimer forbidden Star to go to earth and grant any of the human’s wishes.

You see, although Agatha had liked and adored humans, Mortimer on the other hand had hated them. He wanted to protect the child from the humans.

But as Star grew, she became more curious about the humans, and why her father had forbidden her to go near them.

And it was the tenth year! She thought this was her chance of finally seeing the human world.

So down to the human world she went.

At that very moment, Daniel and his father were taking a stroll, when Daniel had spotted the shooting star.
